Thursday, June 26, 2020- In order to increase the number of scientific publications in the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, it is necessary to make efforts in a structured manner. This structured effort can be achieved by utilizing student Final Project activities so that the resulting product can be in the form of published papers. Manuscripts that have been made can then be published in seminars or published in scientific periodicals. Likewise, the next draft of the patent application can be submitted to the Patent Agency for intellectual property ratification.
However, it is important to note that starting in March 2020 the Indonesian region in general and the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta in particular is experiencing a lockdown due to the COVID-19 virus, so laboratory data-based research activities and primary data collection in the field will be very difficult to carry out. Responding to the pandemic condition, UMS Surakarta issued a circular regarding technical instructions for the implementation of Final Project activities that prioritized writing review literature.
Taking this into account, the Civil Engineering Study Program needs to hold a workshop in order to provide understanding to the final project supervisors so that they are able to guide the final project in the form of a literature review.
