I am pleased to introduce Civil Engineering Study Program,Faculty of Engineering Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, which is the largest private university in Central Java. This program is designed in order fornurturing- professional Engineer in design, construction and operation of Infrastructure Buildings.
The Civil Engineering Study Program was founded in 1981, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 0330/0/1981 in conjunctionto Transformation of Teaching and Training Institute of the Muhammadiyah Surakarta IKIP to Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The last accreditation of the program is A level of accreditation which is issued by National Board of Accreditation in 2019with decree: No. 3958 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / S / X / 2019.
This program is designed to be finished in 4 (four) years to prepare students to enter the construction industry at national and international levels especially related to the implementation of the MEA (ASEAN Economic Community) in 2015. The teaching activities is balanced between theory and practice; hence students have high academic and skill capability. The curriculum meets the Indonesian Qualification Framework curriculum and refers to the International curriculum for engineering CDIO frame work. Alumni of the program work in various fields of civil engineering professions such as: consultants, contractors, researchers, lecturers, appraisal, entrepreneur, and so on.
The teaching staff are the alumni from well-known university both in Indonesia and abroad, such as: ITB, UGM, ITS, UNDIP, RMIT University (Australia); University of Newcastle, University of Nottingham, University of Leeds, University of Loughborough and University of Manchester (UK). The staff is grouped into five group of research interest i.e.: structural, transportation, water (hydro), construction management, and geotechnical which provides opportunities
